Obituary for Margaret E. "Peggi" Love
Margaret "Peggi" Elizabeth Love, 80, died peacefully January 9, 2022 at Cayuga Ridge Rehabilitation Center.
Born August 27, 1941 in Ithaca, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Annie Johnson Scott.
Having lived most of her life in the area, she had attended Ithaca Schools and started her working career with various places, including Ripley Motors and New York State Electric & Gas Corporation, where she retired from as a member of the 25 Year Club.
Margaret was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed music. An avid bowler through the years, she also enjoyed crocheting and was a fan of horror movies. She had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and most recently was a member of Danby Federated Church. She loved being surrounded by her family and friends, including her several god children.
She is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Jessica) Love of Ithaca and Kathy (Greg) Turton of Lake Park FL., and her grandchildren, Elizabeth (Monique) Love, Kiara (Anthony) Love-Cassetta, Genella Clark, Austin (Kennedy Buchalla) Love, and Amari Love. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Edward J. Love, Wellsley Love and Lucia Cassetta and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her siblings, Patricia Dean and Alice Gould, her great-grandson Calogero Cassetta, and her long-time companion Charles Herndon.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Nathaniel Wright officiating. Friends may call from 12-1:00, prior to the services.
In Honor of Peggi, her favorite color was any shade of purple, so if you could kindly wear her color the day of service, she sure would be honored.
