Laura Jane Ellis, 69 of Freeville, NY died November 21, 2019 surrounded by her family at her home after an extended illness.  
Born March 5, 1950 in Ithaca, New York, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Irene (Myers) Brotherton.
Having been a lifelong resident of the area she had been employed with Tompkins County WIC program followed by working with a friendly smile at Dedrick’s farm stand in Dryden for many years.  In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, canning and most of all spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ronald E. Ellis Sr. of Freeville, her children,  Stephanie Ellis, Ronald Ellis Jr., Jeffrey (Vonnie) Ellis and Daniel (Jayne) Ellis all of Dryden, her brothers, Kenneth (Kathy) Brotherton of Elmira Heights, Thomas (Linda) Brotherton Sr. of Dryden and her “sister/cousin” Gail Knapp of Interlaken. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Siera, Dylan, Gage, Kevin, Lillian, Wade, Great grandchildren, Paisley and Westin.
A memorial will be held on Saturday, December 14 at 2:00pm at the Salvation Army, 150 North Albany Street, Ithaca, followed by a dish to pass.
