Arthur “Mike” Samuel Harvey Jr. passed away after a long and courageous battle, on Good Friday, April 19, 2019.

Born on February 12, 1940 in Elmira, NY, Mike graduated from Van Etten High School in 1958 and immediately enlisted and served in the military police corp of the United States Army. Mike was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gun collector, who fiercely protected the preservation of the US Constitution’s second amendment through his loyal support of the NRA.

Mike was a lifelong resident of Groton, NY and was employed as a Master Mechanic at Borg Warner Automotive, Inc for 32 years where he was well known and respected by many of his colleagues.

He is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Justin) Naylor of Cortland, Suzanne (Jim) Welch of Newfield, and Marisa (Mark) Macera of Cazenovia. Seven grandchildren, three great grandchilden, many nieces and nephews, and close friends. Mike was predeceased by the love of his life, Nancy L. Harvey and they are now joined in heaven and back together again.

Mike will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Services will be privately held and contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to:

So very sorry to hear of Mike's passing. We worked together at Borg when ever he needed help on the Harps. Always had to watch out for "falling wrenches"! We were good friends! RIP Mike!
