Shirley E. Dixson, 83 of Groton, NY died February 10, 2019 at the Guthie-Cortland Medical Center.  

Born September 29, 1935 in Cortland, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Blanche Shaw Miller.

Having been a lifelong area resident she had been employed at Smith Corona Marchant for many years followed by cashiering at Walmart and Big Lots. 

In her retirement she had enjoyed reading, tending to her house plants and computer activities.  

She is survived by her children, Carla Fuller, Staria Dixson-Warner both of Groton, Rusty Dixson of Central, SC, Shawn Dixson of Locke and Bud Dixson of Cortland, 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren as well as her siblings, Sharon Parkhurst of South Otselic and Brenda Tory of Cincinnatus and many nieces and nephews.  

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, LaVern Dixson and siblings, Violet Pigg, Frieda Bleck, Jack Miller and Fred and Floyd Miller.

Spring interment with graveside services will be held at the McGraw Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St Judes Children's Hospital.

To the Dixson family I am very sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. I have spent many hours with your family and riding horses (Jim) with your mother. Those are great memories. My mother spent a great deal of time with her in church and making peanut brittle. I’m certain they are discussing this now!! Again I am sorry for your loss. Debbie Wakula Luszczek
